Le prince William dévoile une statue de Matthew Flinders

A la Maison de l'Australie, à Londres, le duc de Cambridge a inauguré aujourd'hui la statue du capitaine Matthew Flinders qui est représenté à genoux sur une carte de l'Australie avec son chat, Trim qui l'a accompagné dans ses explorations.
Matthew Flinders 1774-1814 était  un navigateur et explorateur britannique, il fit le tour de l'Australie, encourageant le choix de ce nom pour désigner ce nouveau  pays, c'était aussi un cartographe.
