Elizabeth II: garden-party à l'ambassade britannique à Paris

La reine Elizabeth II a planté un chêne-liège dans le jardin de l'ambassade britannique. Au cours de la garden-party, elle a rencontré Manuel Valls et d'autres ministres, des vétérans fançais et britanniques, des étudiants de l'école britannique et des acteurs importants des relations franco-britanniques...

Friday 6th June is the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings which saw 156,000 troops from the allied countries including the United Kingdom and the United States join forces to launch an audacious attack on the beaches of Normandy, these assaults are credited with the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany. Avant de se rendre à l'ambassade britannique, la reine a remis la grand-croix de l'Odre de Bain au président Hollande au palais de l'Elysée.

Demain, vers 11h15, la souveraine assistera à une cérémonie au cimetière militaire britannique de Bayeux avant de participer au déjeuner des chefs d'Etat au château de Bénouville.
